The Virginia Military Institute Pipe Band is part of VMI’s Band Company in Lexington, Virginia. The cadet ensemble performs at Institute parades and represents VMI at concerts, ceremonies, festivals, competitions, and public events throughout the eastern United States.
VMI describes its pipe band as a ceremonial unit that carries forward the historic military tradition of the bagpipe. The approximately 40 pipers and drummers perform as musical ambassadors for the Institute alongside the VMI Regimental Band.
